Self Portrait encaustic and mixed media, 2011 30″x24″, |
Last weekend, I was given the Juror’s Award for my encaustic and mixed media painting, Self Portrait in the Beeline Exhibition at the 5th International Encaustic Conference by Francine D’Olimpio, juror and owner of the Kobalt Gallery on Commercial Street, Provincetown, Massachusetts. The painting will be on exhibition through 6.17.11 at the Kobalt Gallery. The International Encaustic Conference, founded by artist, Joanne Mattera is now is conjunction with Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill. The Encaustic Conference draws from an international roster of exhibiting artists who are fully engaged with the medium of pigmented wax for a three day weekend of lectures and demonstrations in Provincetown, Massachusetts. Additionally, there are five days of post conference workshops. I had a fabulous time at the conference. There were great lectures, demos, wonderful artists, sun, sea and lots of Lobstah.
>Congratulations Marybeth! I saw this piece in person at the gallery and it's fantastic!
