In Greek mythology the Moirae are the Fates that control the destiny of mankind: birth, life and death. This is my third series of portraits rendering the Moirae with castoff, vintage photographs. Clotho the spinner spins the thread of life. Lachesis the apportioner decides the length of life. Atropos the inevitable clips the thread of life. In this series of Moirae, I have portrayed the Three Fates with a traditional Greek white palette and photographs of foliage from my studio garden that envelops each portrait to suggest emerging life..
